Scholarships
The Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) is one of the most prestigious universities in Brazil and Latin America. UERJ is a Brazilian public university, and therefore does not charge any fees* and the student has the opportunity to obtain an advanced academic degree in an University of excellence entirely for free*.
In addition, the student of PPG-EM of UERJ has a possibility to apply for scholarships, which are financial aids for the students to dedicate themselves exclusively to the research and study activities. Some examples of scholarship funding bodies are CAPES, CNPq, Faperj. There are also scholarships provided by companies.
PPG-EM has a limited number of CAPES-PPGEM scholarships that the student has the opportunity to apply for. The selection process for this exclusive PPG-EM scholarship usually takes place at the beginning of the semester and consists of a differential and integral calculus and linear algebra exam. Students with top ranks may be awarded a scholarship.
*A small one-time registration fee of approximately 100USD is charged for the application process.
